# syracuse.com vs Observer

syracuse.com and Observer both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 54% of Observer's written reviews are positive against 15% of syracuse.com's. Observer also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). syracuse.com's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 285) and chart position (#67 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. syracuse.com sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Observer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for syracuse.com against 4.5 for Observer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: syracuse.com has 6.9K ratings behind it against 285, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 15% of syracuse.com's written reviews are positive against 54% of Observer's.

syracuse.com ships an update every 3 weeks, Observer monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
