# 小説Viewer vs ArcReader

小説Viewer and ArcReader both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 94% of ArcReader's written reviews are positive against 56% of 小説Viewer's. ArcReader also leads on ratings volume (47 vs 2). 小説Viewer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 小説Viewer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ArcReader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for 小説Viewer against 4.9 for ArcReader. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ArcReader has 47 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of 小説Viewer's written reviews are positive against 94% of ArcReader's.

小説Viewer ships an update every 10 days, ArcReader weekly. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
