# Doodle Dandy vs Kinetiform

The clearest difference is ads: Kinetiform at none against Doodle Dandy's shown. Kinetiform also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Doodle Dandy's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 22 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Doodle Dandy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Kinetiform sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kinetiform holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 69 and 41 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Doodle Dandy's written reviews are positive against 92% of Kinetiform's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Doodle Dandy ships an update fortnightly, Kinetiform every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
