# Pocket Schedule Planner vs Grade Pal

The clearest difference is monetization model: Grade Pal at free with in-app purchases against Pocket Schedule Planner's subscription. Grade Pal also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months). Pocket Schedule Planner's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 43%) and ratings volume (8.3K vs 274). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Schedule Planner sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Grade Pal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Pocket Schedule Planner against 4.5 for Grade Pal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Schedule Planner has 8.3K ratings behind it against 274, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of Pocket Schedule Planner's written reviews are positive against 43% of Grade Pal's.

Pocket Schedule Planner ships an update every 2 months, Grade Pal every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
