# PETA vs Ulysses

The clearest difference is price: PETA at Free against Ulysses's $4.99. PETA also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 1). Ulysses's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (5 vs 3). On update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

PETA is free to download; Ulysses costs $4.99 up front. Ulysses sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. PETA asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ulysses holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PETA has 1.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
