# ColorPicker vs Hex Color Codes

The clearest difference is rating: Hex Color Codes at 4.4 against ColorPicker's 3.0. Hex Color Codes also leads on ratings volume (103 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). ColorPicker's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ColorPicker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hex Color Codes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hex Color Codes holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hex Color Codes has 103 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of ColorPicker's written reviews are positive against 27% of Hex Color Codes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ColorPicker ships an update every 2 months, Hex Color Codes every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
