# Gmail vs VitaGist

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VitaGist at 100% against Gmail's 30%. VitaGist also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 14) and ads (none vs shown). Gmail's advantage is ratings volume (2.4M vs 4) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gmail sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. VitaGist asks for nothing beyond the download.

VitaGist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gmail has 2.4M ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 30% of Gmail's written reviews are positive against 100% of VitaGist's.

Gmail ships an update weekly, VitaGist every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
