# Gmail vs AI Email Writer

Gmail and AI Email Writer both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 77% of AI Email Writer's written reviews are positive against 30% of Gmail's. AI Email Writer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15 vs 18.0). Gmail's advantage is ratings volume (2.5M vs 533) and chart position (#3 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gmail sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AI Email Writer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Gmail against 4.8 for AI Email Writer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gmail has 2.5M ratings behind it against 533, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of Gmail's written reviews are positive against 77% of AI Email Writer's.

Gmail ships an update weekly, AI Email Writer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
