# Countdown ‎ vs Event Countdown

The clearest difference is rating: Event Countdown at 5.0 against Countdown ‎'s 3.8. Event Countdown also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 17.6). Countdown ‎'s advantage is review sentiment (34% vs 0%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 14 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown ‎ sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 3 months and Event Countdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Event Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown ‎ has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Countdown ‎'s written reviews are positive against 0% of Event Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Countdown ‎ ships an update every 2 months, Event Countdown every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and June 3, 2026 respectively.
