# Countdown ‎ vs Simply Birthdays Countdown

The clearest difference is rating: Simply Birthdays Countdown at 5.0 against Countdown ‎'s 3.8. Simply Birthdays Countdown also leads on ads (none vs shown). Countdown ‎'s advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown ‎ sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 3 months and Simply Birthdays Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simply Birthdays Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown ‎ has 11K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Countdown ‎'s written reviews are positive against 60% of Simply Birthdays Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
