# Total Carp vs Big Carp Magazine

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Big Carp Magazine at 100% against Total Carp's 38%. Big Carp Magazine also leads on iOS requirement (11.2 vs 15.6). Total Carp's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 1.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Total Carp sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Big Carp Magazine sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $23.99 per 6 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Total Carp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Total Carp's written reviews are positive against 100% of Big Carp Magazine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Total Carp ships an update every 7 months, Big Carp Magazine every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
