# TheFork vs MACARFI

The clearest difference is rating: TheFork at 4.9 against MACARFI's 4.3. TheFork also leads on ratings volume (62K vs 4). MACARFI's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 58%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TheFork holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TheFork has 62K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of TheFork's written reviews are positive against 100% of MACARFI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TheFork ships an update fortnightly, MACARFI every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
