# iDNES.cz vs Ekonom

The clearest difference is rating: Ekonom at 5.0 against iDNES.cz's 2.7. Ekonom also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). iDNES.cz's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iDNES.cz sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and Ekonom sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ekonom holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iDNES.cz has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iDNES.cz ships an update every 5 months, Ekonom every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
