# Vimeo vs Riverside

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Vimeo at 63% against Riverside's 36%. Vimeo also leads on chart position (#22 vs #172) and device support (4 vs 2). Riverside's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vimeo sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Riverside sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Riverside holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12K and 20K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Vimeo's written reviews are positive against 36% of Riverside's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Vimeo ships an update every 2 weeks, Riverside every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
