# GPS Tracks vs GeoCaches

The clearest difference is review sentiment: GPS Tracks at 85% against GeoCaches's 37%. GPS Tracks also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). GeoCaches's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Tracks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per year and GeoCaches sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GPS Tracks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Tracks has 18K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of GPS Tracks's written reviews are positive against 37% of GeoCaches's.

GPS Tracks ships an update fortnightly, GeoCaches every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
