# GPS Tracks vs MoveTrails

The clearest difference is ads: GPS Tracks at none against MoveTrails's shown. GPS Tracks also leads on ratings volume (18K vs 4) and chart position (#74 vs unranked). MoveTrails's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Tracks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per year and MoveTrails sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MoveTrails holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Tracks has 18K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of GPS Tracks's written reviews are positive against 100% of MoveTrails's.

GPS Tracks ships an update fortnightly, MoveTrails every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
