# GPS Tracks vs GPS

The clearest difference is rating: GPS Tracks at 4.7 against GPS's 3.4. GPS Tracks also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 60%) and ratings volume (18K vs 17). GPS's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Tracks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per year. GPS asks for nothing beyond the download.

GPS Tracks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Tracks has 18K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of GPS Tracks's written reviews are positive against 60% of GPS's.

GPS Tracks ships an update fortnightly, GPS every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
