# Random Gate vs MYLAPS Speedhive

The clearest difference is price: MYLAPS Speedhive at Free against Random Gate's $0.99. MYLAPS Speedhive also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.8) and update cadence (monthly vs every 30 months). Random Gate's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 51%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.4). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

MYLAPS Speedhive is free to download; Random Gate costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MYLAPS Speedhive holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MYLAPS Speedhive has 1.2K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Random Gate's written reviews are positive against 51% of MYLAPS Speedhive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Random Gate ships an update every 30 months, MYLAPS Speedhive monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
