# Minesweeper! vs Minesweeper

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Minesweeper at none against Minesweeper!'s 1. Minesweeper also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Minesweeper!'s advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Minesweeper! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Minesweeper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Minesweeper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minesweeper! has 1.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Minesweeper!'s written reviews are positive against 67% of Minesweeper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Minesweeper! ships an update every 4 months, Minesweeper every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
