# CMC Field Guide vs Rubicon Connect

The clearest difference is rating: Rubicon Connect at 5.0 against CMC Field Guide's 4.0. Rubicon Connect also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). CMC Field Guide's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 60%) and ratings volume (24 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rubicon Connect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CMC Field Guide has 24 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of CMC Field Guide's written reviews are positive against 60% of Rubicon Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CMC Field Guide ships an update every 3 months, Rubicon Connect every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
