# CMC Field Guide vs Hyper

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hyper at 100% against CMC Field Guide's 78%. Hyper also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). CMC Field Guide's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hyper holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CMC Field Guide has 24 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of CMC Field Guide's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hyper's.

CMC Field Guide ships an update every 3 months, Hyper every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
