# CMC Field Guide vs SHO

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CMC Field Guide at 78% against SHO's 0%. SHO's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 4.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SHO holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of CMC Field Guide's written reviews are positive against 0% of SHO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
