# TouchChat Discover vs Splat

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Splat at 100% against TouchChat Discover's 22%. Splat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 18.0). TouchChat Discover's advantage is rating (3.8 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 15 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TouchChat Discover sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Splat asks for nothing beyond the download.

TouchChat Discover holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TouchChat Discover has 102 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of TouchChat Discover's written reviews are positive against 100% of Splat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TouchChat Discover ships an update every 2 months, Splat every 15 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
