# GV vs Capture ADV

The clearest difference is rating: GV at 4.3 against Capture ADV's 2.6. GV also leads on ratings volume (1.7K vs 19). Capture ADV's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GV sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Capture ADV asks for nothing beyond the download.

GV holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GV has 1.7K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 22% and 21% positive.

GV ships an update every 3 months, Capture ADV every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
