# magicplan vs RenoPlan

The clearest difference is ratings volume: magicplan at 41K against RenoPlan's 741. magicplan also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and chart position (#161 vs unranked). RenoPlan's advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 51%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. magicplan sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and RenoPlan sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

magicplan holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: magicplan has 41K ratings behind it against 741, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of magicplan's written reviews are positive against 62% of RenoPlan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

magicplan ships an update weekly, RenoPlan fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
