# ASVAB vs Math Ascent

The clearest difference is update cadence: Math Ascent at weekly against ASVAB's every 7 months. Math Ascent also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). ASVAB's advantage is ratings volume (191 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ASVAB sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Math Ascent sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Math Ascent holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ASVAB has 191 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of ASVAB's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Ascent's.

ASVAB ships an update every 7 months, Math Ascent weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
