# CLEP vs Advanced Verbal Lab

The clearest difference is update cadence: Advanced Verbal Lab at fortnightly against CLEP's every 7 months. CLEP's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CLEP sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Advanced Verbal Lab sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CLEP ships an update every 7 months, Advanced Verbal Lab fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
