# GRE vs Algebra Review

The clearest difference is monetization model: Algebra Review at free against GRE's free with in-app purchases. GRE's advantage is ratings volume (174 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GRE sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Algebra Review sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GRE against 5.0 for Algebra Review. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GRE has 174 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GRE ships an update every 6 months, Algebra Review every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
