# Pastry Chef Pro vs Valrhona®

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Valrhona® at 67% against Pastry Chef Pro's 21%. Valrhona® also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (19 vs 1). Pastry Chef Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pastry Chef Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Valrhona® asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pastry Chef Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Valrhona® has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Pastry Chef Pro's written reviews are positive against 67% of Valrhona®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pastry Chef Pro ships an update every 4 months, Valrhona® every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
