# Pinterest vs InstantMaker

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pinterest at weekly against InstantMaker's every 2 months. Pinterest also leads on ratings volume (5.8M vs 3) and chart position (#1 vs unranked). InstantMaker's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pinterest sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and InstantMaker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

InstantMaker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pinterest has 5.8M ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pinterest ships an update weekly, InstantMaker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
