# ABC SPELLING MAGIC vs Speech Blubs

The clearest difference is rating: Speech Blubs at 4.6 against ABC SPELLING MAGIC's 3.8. Speech Blubs also leads on ratings volume (58K vs 42) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks). ABC SPELLING MAGIC's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ABC SPELLING MAGIC sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speech Blubs sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $14.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speech Blubs holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speech Blubs has 58K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 94% of ABC SPELLING MAGIC's written reviews are positive against 67% of Speech Blubs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ABC SPELLING MAGIC ships an update every 6 weeks, Speech Blubs every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
