# Dice vs Known

The clearest difference is rating: Known at 4.6 against Dice's 3.9. Known also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). Dice's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dice sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Known sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Known holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Known has 2.1K ratings behind it against 54, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Dice's written reviews are positive against 60% of Known's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dice ships an update every 3 months, Known every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
