# Zappar vs Slide AR

The clearest difference is rating: Slide AR at 4.0 against Zappar's 3.5. Slide AR also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Zappar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (42% vs 23%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slide AR sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per year. Zappar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Slide AR holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zappar has 71 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Zappar's written reviews are positive against 23% of Slide AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Zappar ships an update every 3 months, Slide AR weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
