# Tip Calculator vs Waiter Pal

The clearest difference is ads: Waiter Pal at none against Tip Calculator's shown. Waiter Pal also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks) and review sentiment (64% vs 51%). Tip Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 797). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tip Calculator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Waiter Pal sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Waiter Pal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tip Calculator has 12K ratings behind it against 797, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of Tip Calculator's written reviews are positive against 64% of Waiter Pal's.

Tip Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, Waiter Pal every 11 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
