# Tip Calculator vs TipMax Tip Tracker

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Tip Calculator at 12K against TipMax Tip Tracker's 46. Tip Calculator also leads on device support (3 vs 1). TipMax Tip Tracker's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks) and review sentiment (67% vs 51%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tip Calculator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and TipMax Tip Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Tip Calculator against 4.6 for TipMax Tip Tracker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tip Calculator has 12K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 51% of Tip Calculator's written reviews are positive against 67% of TipMax Tip Tracker's.

Tip Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, TipMax Tip Tracker every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
