# Tip Calculator vs TipSplitz

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Tip Calculator at 12K against TipSplitz's 2. TipSplitz's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tip Calculator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and TipSplitz sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TipSplitz holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tip Calculator has 12K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tip Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, TipSplitz every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
