# Basic Calculator vs Calculator

The clearest difference is ads: Calculator at none against Basic Calculator's shown. Calculator also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 76%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Basic Calculator's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Basic Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calculator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Basic Calculator has 3.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 76% of Basic Calculator's written reviews are positive against 100% of Calculator's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
