# XL Mail vs StoneKey

The clearest difference is price: XL Mail at Free against StoneKey's $1.99. XL Mail also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.6). StoneKey's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 25 months). On review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

XL Mail is free to download; StoneKey costs $1.99 up front. XL Mail sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and StoneKey sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

XL Mail holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StoneKey has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of XL Mail's written reviews are positive against 6% of StoneKey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

XL Mail ships an update every 25 months, StoneKey every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
