# Menards® vs Van Meter

The clearest difference is monetization model: Van Meter at free against Menards®'s free with in-app purchases. Van Meter also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Menards®'s advantage is ratings volume (221K vs 2) and chart position (#176 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Van Meter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Menards® has 221K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Menards® ships an update every 3 weeks, Van Meter every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
