# Rage Comics vs Comic Mania

The clearest difference is rating: Comic Mania at 4.0 against Rage Comics's 3.5. Comic Mania also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Rage Comics's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 15 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Comic Mania holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 65 and 58 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Rage Comics's written reviews are positive against 77% of Comic Mania's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rage Comics ships an update monthly, Comic Mania every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on July 8, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
