# Athens. vs Subway Transit Guide & Maps

The clearest difference is rating: Subway Transit Guide & Maps at 4.7 against Athens.'s 2.0. Subway Transit Guide & Maps also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). Athens.'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Athens. sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Subway Transit Guide & Maps sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Subway Transit Guide & Maps holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subway Transit Guide & Maps has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Athens.'s written reviews are positive against 38% of Subway Transit Guide & Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
