# picTrove vs kPoint

The clearest difference is rating: kPoint at 5.0 against picTrove's 3.1. kPoint also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). picTrove's advantage is ratings volume (74 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. picTrove sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. kPoint asks for nothing beyond the download.

kPoint holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: picTrove has 74 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of picTrove's written reviews are positive against 50% of kPoint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
