# Handbid vs Control4

The clearest difference is rating: Handbid at 4.8 against Control4's 3.5. Handbid also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 38%) and ratings volume (27K vs 74). Control4's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Handbid holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Handbid has 27K ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of Handbid's written reviews are positive against 38% of Control4's.

Handbid ships an update monthly, Control4 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
