# iMotion Remote vs Camera for Stop Motion Studio

The clearest difference is update cadence: Camera for Stop Motion Studio at every 4 months against iMotion Remote's every 72 months. Camera for Stop Motion Studio also leads on rating (3.1 vs 2.8) and ratings volume (160 vs 6). iMotion Remote's advantage is review sentiment (42% vs 31%) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Camera for Stop Motion Studio holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Camera for Stop Motion Studio has 160 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of iMotion Remote's written reviews are positive against 31% of Camera for Stop Motion Studio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iMotion Remote ships an update every 72 months, Camera for Stop Motion Studio every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 8, 2026.
