# Rosetta Stone Classic (2024) vs Rocket Languages

The clearest difference is monetization model: Rocket Languages at free with in-app purchases against Rosetta Stone Classic (2024)'s subscription. Rosetta Stone Classic (2024)'s advantage is ratings volume (239K vs 2.6K) and chart position (#125 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rosetta Stone Classic (2024) sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $44.99 per 3 months and Rocket Languages sells 49 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Rosetta Stone Classic (2024) against 4.6 for Rocket Languages. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rosetta Stone Classic (2024) has 239K ratings behind it against 2.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of Rosetta Stone Classic (2024)'s written reviews are positive against 70% of Rocket Languages's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
