# Salmon Roe vs DropColors

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DropColors at 100% against Salmon Roe's 48%. Salmon Roe's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Salmon Roe holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Salmon Roe's written reviews are positive against 100% of DropColors's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Salmon Roe ships an update every 3 months, DropColors every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
