# ComicBook! vs GIF Maker

The clearest difference is price: GIF Maker at Free against ComicBook!'s $2.99. GIF Maker also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and device support (4 vs 2). ComicBook!'s advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 90) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On rating, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

GIF Maker is free to download; ComicBook! costs $2.99 up front. ComicBook! sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and GIF Maker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for ComicBook! against 4.8 for GIF Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ComicBook! has 1.4K ratings behind it against 90, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of ComicBook!'s written reviews are positive against 84% of GIF Maker's.

ComicBook! ships an update every 2 weeks, GIF Maker every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
