# Chimani vs The Eclipse App

The clearest difference is rating: Chimani at 4.5 against The Eclipse App's 4.0. Chimani also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 100) and chart position (#191 vs unranked). The Eclipse App's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chimani sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and The Eclipse App sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chimani holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chimani has 1.2K ratings behind it against 100, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Chimani's written reviews are positive against 59% of The Eclipse App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chimani ships an update every 2 weeks, The Eclipse App weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
