# GMAT ® vs GMAT Prep & Practice

The clearest difference is ratings volume: GMAT Prep & Practice at 2.3K against GMAT ®'s 31. GMAT Prep & Practice also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GMAT ® sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and GMAT Prep & Practice sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GMAT ® against 4.9 for GMAT Prep & Practice. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GMAT Prep & Practice has 2.3K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of GMAT ®'s written reviews are positive against 76% of GMAT Prep & Practice's.

GMAT ® ships an update every 11 months, GMAT Prep & Practice every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
