# Chargemap vs Zapmap

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chargemap at 56% against Zapmap's 30%. Chargemap also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Zapmap's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chargemap sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Zapmap sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zapmap holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 174 and 97 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Chargemap's written reviews are positive against 30% of Zapmap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chargemap ships an update every 9 days, Zapmap fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
